Buying tickets
The official 12306 app and website sell tickets in Chinese and English. Third-party travel apps are also available. Book early during holidays.
At the station
Arrive at least 45 minutes early. Use your passport to enter the platform, and make sure your ticket name matches your passport exactly.
Onboard tips
- Store large luggage in the overhead racks or luggage areas
- Seat numbers are marked clearly on your ticket
- Most stations have English signs
